The most fucked up thing about economic imperialism is that governments will literally kill their own citizens using a military if they protest working conditions because they work with a wealthy company. Companies encourage that. They’ll allow workers to be punished for trying to form a union.

Capitalism is horrific and I hope those people die in my lifetime. I hope capitalism dies in my lifetime too but I doubt it will happen.

misanthropicblackout

Banana Republics are the first thing that comes to mind here.

taxloopholes

Yep that’s exactly what I’m talking about.

From 1932 onwards the indigenous population of El Salvador was systematically targeted and exterminated by its military forces for protesting against coffee corporations buying the vast majority of arable land and empovirishing local farmers.

Those same corporations applauded the Salvadoran president at the time, regarding him as “having the iron fist necessary to protect economic interests.”

Throughout the decades those who even resembled members of the indigenous community were shot and killed in their homes and in the roads.

People had to abandon their identity in order to survive. Nowadays, the indigenous population of El Salvador practicing their culture and speaking the indigenous language is limited to small settlements also targeted by gang violence.

The people in charge covered this up for years. They only started teaching this at school recently. I graduated high school from there about a year ago.

Capitalism is cruelty. Capitalism is violence. Capitalism is death. There is nothing benign about a system that prioritizes capital over human lives.

There have been over 2,800 labour union leaders and members killled in Colombia since 1986. That’s roughly one every three days.

http://www.alternet.org/story/146579/coca_cola%27s_role_in_the_assassinations_of_union_leaders_explored_in_powerful_new_documentary

If you’ve ever heard of the Coca Cola death squads, that shit is real as hell

asymbina

One of the reasons the De Beers Group is arguably the most evil capitalist entity ever to exist is that they literally funded death squads and fomented rebellion and violence to maintain their absolute control over the world supply of diamonds. That’s how conflict diamonds entered the international market — De Beers would be the ultimate buyer, if they didn’t straight up trade weapons for diamonds, because every single diamond mined passed through a De Beers Group company. They stockpiled diamonds to both induce artificial scarcity (driving up prices) and so they could flood the market should a competitor try to undercut them.

Their monopsony and monopoly started unraveling around the turn of the 21st century, but they still control some 35% of the global diamond trade. That they’ve never faced even a shred of meaningful accountability for the plunder and bloodshed makes them a prime example of the devastation wrought by imperialist, colonialist capitalism.

Further examples of economic imperialism:

The United Fruit Company’s 1928 ‘Banana Massacre’, and then their successor company Chiquita Banana hiring paramilitary hit squads as recently as the 1990s/2000s.

Britain, the D’Arcy Concession, and the creation of the Anglo-Persian Oil Company, and how Britain + the CIA overthrew the democratically elected PM of Iran in order to prevent him from nationalizing the company.

Canada explicitly supporting the 2009 coup in Honduras, and how their mining companies benefited from the government that was subsequently put in place.

This stuff isn’t the exception, it’s the rule.

sandy cheeks would’ve voted trump that evil southern rat ass bitch

Sandy Cheeks is a pro-science feminist who lives in a foreign land that she respects the customs of and she would be offended you would even accuse her of this.

mr krabs would’ve voted trump

lishadra

Mr Krabs absolutely would’ve voted trump.

zarekthelordofthefries

Mr. Krabs would not have voted for Trump because Mr. Krabs earned most of his money through hard work (and being a cheapskate and get rich quick schemes but those still require some effort on his part) whereas Trump inherited most of his wealth and thinks a million dollars is a small loan, Mr. Krabs would consider him an insult to richness for which he could not stand.

Plankton would’ve voted Trump.

You think he needs competition taking over the world? Face it folks. No one on Spongebob would vote for Trump. None of them. Face it.

the-collecting-turnip

Squilliam Fancyson would vote for Trump

fgsshinyhoard

okay im just gonna put down my things here

- Plankton would not want competition, he would not vote for him

- Krabs would never respect a guy who bankrupted himself four times, he would not vote for him

- Sandy Cheeks is an independent scientist receiving grants from academies to further her research in foreign lands, so she would never vote for him.  Also, she would never respect a man who made such sexist comments since Spongebob did that once (to motivate his pet snail like a traditional sports coach) and she kicked HIS ass over a fucking field.

- Patrick can’t spell so he couldn’t vote for anyone

- Spongebob is too nice and would never vote for anyone who used such inappropriate “bad words” during their campaign.

- Squidward is too lazy and defeatist to even vote because he thinks there would be no point.

- Pearl is a teenager and therefore too young to vote

- Larry Lobster is a trained medic and custodian and would not vote for anyone that crippled such services.

- Bubble Bass WOULD vote for him because Bass is an arrogant self-entitled prick who enjoys deceiving others just for the sake of humiliating them, and would approve of such a person.

- Squilliam Fancyson would also vote for him because he’s a wealthy narcissist.

- Mrs. Puff has a criminal record and is therefore not eligible to vote.

ohdebt

Squidward is a full time minimum wage retail worker who is pro-union and anti-capitalist, and also a firm supporter and member of the fine arts community. He would actively vote against Trump, defeatist or not, and you can’t convince me otherwise.

“The laborers have the most enormous power in their hands, and, if they once became thoroughly conscious of it and used it, nothing would withstand them; they would only have to stop labor, regard the product of labor as theirs, and enjoy it. This is the sense of the labor disturbances which show themselves here and there. The State rests on the — slavery of labor. If labor becomes free. the State is lost.”

Lev Chernyi, Stirner-influenced anarchist & poet, whose lectures were extremely popular with the Russian proletariat. Chernyi was extremely active during the Revolution, denouncing the “Workers’ State” as as much an enemy to anarchists as the bourgeois state. He edited the anarchist weekly Anarkhiia and was a vociferous advocate of the expropriation of private homes. He advocated radically decentralized production and a “complete absence of internal power structures.” He was murdered by the Bolsheviks on a counterfeiting charge, having denounced the regime as “the worst tyranny in human history.”

meatthawsmoth

I made a mistake in this post. He wasn’t the editor of Anarkhiia, just a contributor.
